re: waves of all kinds;
Iv always wondered why explanations of the ‘doppler effect’ ignore the feature of amplitude, for as short as a frequency gets by way of the doppler effect (source moving closer to the observer) the amplitude must surely increase proportionally to the compression (more energy dumped in that propogating space/wave).
Further to that, Iv always hated the word ‘interference’, its so counter intuitive to what is actually happening, sure some parts cancel out, but just as many add energy in a space as cancel.
So it seems to me that you can actually build up the energy in a specific point in space with properly tuned synchronized intersecting waves (with alternate points of origin) – be it water, radio, light or other to create a central standing wave (point?) multiples higher in amplitude than the ‘noise’ generated around it.
fascinating thought.
lots of energy pumped into a defined space by way of standing wave (point?).
targeted radio lasers, plausible?
