(i can confirm this works on snow leopard and the 720-f screen, but i guess it should be generic for other combinations of versions and models)
So, i wanted to install a touchscreen on a boat to control an iTunes type of onboard computer setup.
I ended up getting a Mimo 720-f 7inch touchscreen, and had a mac mini installed on the boat. The Mimo being the only monitor attached, and installing SilverJuke MP3 player (fantastic btw!). All was good.
The only problem was i had to BUY the Mimo touchscreen drivers after buying the screen. This was really annoying, rude and i think should be illegal ? how can you advertise a ‘touchscreen’ when it clearly is not a touchscreen until they provide the key component for such : the drivers. Im sure you would all agree this is a horrible business practice.
So interestingly AFTER buying the driver, i googled for the filename and found it hosted elsewhere, for free, without questions or even a single popup .. one click and its yours!
So i am not hosting this file, it has nothing to do with me, im just sharing with you a link i found out in the wild on the internet using google.
Message me if and when it stops working by the way!
Here it is : THE LINK, good luck!
(i just googled “touchscreen_driver_installer.zip” which is the name of the zip file … make sure to include the quotes for google to get specific about it :) )
* another note : in my opinion the 720-f is a great little screen. sure it gets a bad rap on other reviews but thats because the users dont know how it works, they all comment on the touchscreen controlling the mouse cursor ‘on the other monitor’ but this is not true : it is easy to make it work directly on itself for an application like mine for example. it took me all of 5 minutes!
this really worked! nice one :)
